Internal Medicine is the specialty of an internist, who diagnoses and treats disorders and diseases of the body's internal organs. Internist treat medical problems with medicine, either alone or in combination with other therapeutic agents. In some cases, and internist refers the patient to a doctor in one of the internal medicine subspecialties.
